Our latest Dominatrix Interview, we talked with Lady Liv Raganrock of Oakland, California to discuss how She became a Professional Dominatrix and her thoughts on the BDSM.
Q) How did you get your started in BDSM? A) Like so many lifelong kinksters, I became aware of my predilections for power and pain through a series of potent moments of fascination throughout my childhood. I was always trying to get my friends to play make-believe games like “queen and slave” or “Greek goddesses.” I remember watching Barbarella as a 13 year old and LOVING it. I was completely fascinated, but didn’t yet understand why I loved the thigh high boots and sexy situations as much as I did. As I grew older and more confident, I began experimenting more and more, eventually subbing while training under a lifestyle dominant with over 35 years of experience. Although I always wanted to dominate (I am a 95% top-leaning switch), experiencing everything as a submissive first was an invaluable lesson that I still carry with me.
Q) How long have you been a Pro-Domme? A) I have been playing professionally for over three years, since 2016. After playing for seven years in my personal life, I found myself 30 years old and craving more authenticity from life. I went pro, and it has been a wonderful journey. My life is now centered around kink, social causes, writing and art. I couldn’t be happier.
Q) What do you offer? What’s your “speciality”? A) I strongly identify as a “service top,” and my favorite sessions are centered around my submissives’ favorite activities. I love to wield the carrot as much as the whip, so naturally I love tease and denial, chastity training, forced orgasm situations, and all forms of sensual BDSM. I thrive in improvisational settings, and particularly love humiliation play, psychological situations and bizarre/taboo role play. I don’t feel I am bragging by stating that my ability to create psychologically driven predicaments and creative debasement is stellar.
Q) Where do the sessions happen? A) I love to session at my home dungeon, The Gates, in Oakland, CA. I also offer outcall sessions throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and occasionally tour.
Q) What type of subs/slaves do you like? A) I love playing with both newbies just discovering their desires as well as seasoned sluts. The qualities I value most in subs are intelligence, as well as a sense of humor and levity. I feel that if a sub has these two singular characteristics, everything else will flow naturally. Whether someone is a pain slut, a devotee, a pet, a brat, a sensation seeker or a little… if they are sensitive to their surroundings, attentive to communication, and able to laugh at themselves, I can make magic from their raw material.
Q) Why do you think people are drawn to BDSM? A) I think that power and pain are inextricable from freedom and pleasure. In the theater of BDSM, these dialectics are revealed to us and reconciled. I feel that BDSM is an integral part of human nature and sexuality. Those that aren’t into it, in my opinion, lack awareness. Kink is all around us if you pay attention. And I believe it flickers inside us all.
Q) What are some of the biggest misconceptions about your work? A) Uff da! There are so many. Perhaps one of the biggest misconceptions is that I am an alpha-type personality all the time, a cold bitch, etc. Although I am undeniably a strong woman, I am an artist who is also devoted to my non-profit work and volunteering every week to help survivors of domestic violence. Many dommes are driven by compassion. We aren’t all gold-digging mean girls. Some of us are actually very kind, sensitive people. Pain and cruelty are tools that I use to better my subs. I take pleasure in the process, but I never hurt for the sake of hurting. My intentions are to heal, help and create– never to destroy.
Q) How can potential subs/slaves get in touch with you? A) Subs can contact me via email at luminous.lady.liv@gmail.com and via my website at ladylivragnarok.com. My website has all the info one might need, including my Twitter, how to reach The Gates, and how to call me on Niteflirt.
